Coming to Iceland just for the weekend (or just a couple of days) ?
Wondering how you can use the time as wisely and productively as possible?

First thing you need to realise is that Iceland is a lot bigger then most people think, so don´t fall into the trap that way to many people do and make a list of things you need to see without actually researching how far away they are from where you will be staying! otherwise you´ll end up spending majority of your time sitting in a bus or a car.
So I´m gonna create an itinerary example for those of you who are coming to Iceland for only a few days.
Let´s say you´re here for only 4 days, and you want to see waterfalls, black sand beaches, Icelandic Horses, Icelandic Sheep, Glaciers, Local small towns, and remote natural places out of the tourist traffic.
Day 1: Your plane arrives early in the morning but you are in Iceland! so you´re not gonna go to bed even though you are a bit tired oh no! you get picked up by your private guide (me of course) from the airport we go to a bakery or coffee house to get the energy much needed for todays adventure!
Then we start driving the coastline of Reykjanes peninsula were we do a bit of sightseeing with spots like bridge between two continents, Reykjanes light house, valahnúkar, eldey, gunnuhver hot spring area.
Okay we´ve seen a lot so far but it´s still early! so we reach the town of Grindavík where we will go on a ATV tour MTB or hiking....you choose !
Time for Lunch we will have different choices of restaurants in town of Grindavík when we get back from our activity.
Already did a lot of stuff and travelled today so it´s time to relax....where better then the famous Blue lagoon!
by the time you get out of there it will be time to head into Reykjavík where you check in your hotel/hostel/airbnb or whatever.
Dinner then to bed early as it was a tough day! or if you´re one of those energy bombs go check out the night life downtown!
What did we cover of our to do list in iceland today?
- Seeing Icelandic horse
- Sheep
- Black sand beach
- remote volcanic nature
- one of 25 wonders of the world (blue lagoon)
- local small town (Grindavík fishing town)
DAY 2:
I´ll pick you up in the morning and we´ll head for another day full of adventures!
We will make a stop at the beautiful lake Kleifarvatn for some views and morning picnic.
There we will also se a geothermal area with some bubbling hot mud pools.
Our next adventure today is Kayaking in Stokkseyri with my friends there that offer great kayaking and SUP boarding tours where you can expect to see some seals up close!
After the kayaking it´s perfect to warm up with some delicious lobster soup at the local restaurant in Stokkseyri called Fjöruborðið.
We´re just getting started!
After we´ve had the soup we´ll head over to Hveragerði to hike up to Reykjadalur where we will find a thermal river that we will jump in and bath in (good idea to bring some beers for this one)
Back to Reykjavík.
What did we cover of our to do list in Iceland
- Remote nature
- Adventure
-local experience (town of Stokkseyri, lobster soup)
- hot spring area (Reykjadalur)
DAY 3:
Famous South coast!
Today we´re gonna see a lot of different waterfalls, the one and only famous black sand beach Reynisfjara, Dyrhólaey, Puffins, Glaciers and more!
it´s a long sightseeing day but what I like is to mix these things with some actual adventure and activities so there is plenty of things you can choose to do on the way so just ask me and I´ll give you a list of things!

When we get back to Reykjavík after this day I recommend doing the bar crawl with my amazing friends at Wake Up Reykjavík! there is no better way to get to know the real night life in Iceland!
Day 4:
We´ll head to Keflavík for some Whale watching and fishing tour before you leave to the airport!
This was one of many versions I can come up with, I could make 10 of these example weekends, if you have your own version of wishes to do here in Iceland get in touch and see if I can help!
